Rauf Raif Denktaş First President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Former Turkish-Cypriot leader and the first President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Born in Baf (Paphos), Cyprus, in 1924 Rauf Denktaş (pronounced Denktash) married to Aydin Münir in 1949. Has two daughters and two sons (one deceased).
